• Shows where you want to go, where you’re likely headed if you continue down the current path, what your alternatives are.
  • Making plans or promises, setting goals, making an agreement are all examples of when we anticipate what our future self might do, think, or feel. Will she want to follow-through on that plan? Will she want to keep that promise?
    • We can become more intentional in this process by asking her.
    • Although you can’t tell the future, you can read your own mind. What does it tell you?
  • This is key, IMO, to self-advocacy and honesty with oneself.
    • When you dialogue with your future self, you have a deeper understanding of your underlying desires and are more invested in getting them.
